Sprechen Sie Deutsh? If you don’t, you’d better get out your Rosetta Stone because you’ll want to know such phrases as:

A Bier, bittschen (“One beer, please”)

No a Mass (“Another liter, please”)

And Prost! (“Cheers!”)

Von Trapp's

Von Trapp’s

Von Trapp’s, a Bavarian-inspired bier hall, on Capitol Hill opened this Sunday, Feb. 10, to clogs of crowds. Get it? Bavarian clogs? See what I did there? Oktoberfest is now year-round with this 420-seat restaurant serving up brats (of the sausage kind, not the people type) and house-made sauerkraut, pickles, mustard and pretzels. What’s more? Von Trapp’s has five indoor bocce courts, two mezzanines, three bars and a fireside “bier den.” With lots and lots of beer. Beer is central to Von Trapp’s with 100 different bottled beers to choose from, an ever-changing list of 25 beers on draft and plans for a growler program to come. Lederhosen and “The Sound of Music” puns are optional.
